Selena (she/her) is passionate about enhancing holistic well-being through an integrative, culturally sensitive, and person-centered lens. Through her warm and collaborative approach, she empowers clients to feel in charge of their own unique path toward growth and healing.
Selena received her in BA in Psychology, with a minor in art, from UC Santa Barbara, where she began volunteering as a therapeutic art teacher for local, disabled youths. Selena went on to gain experience providing trauma-informed care in residential drug/alcohol detox centers, as well as in behavioral health clinics for individuals on the autism spectrum. She earned her Registered Behavioral Technician and Registered Yoga Teacher credentials in 2021, as well as her MA in Clinical Counseling from Alliant International University in 2025. Selena is particularly skilled in mindfulness-based, somatic, and expressive arts techniques, such as using yoga, breathwork, progressive muscle relaxation, painting, sculpting, acting, dance, and music to facilitate the therapeutic process. She also draws from other evidence-based methods, such as EMDR, cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, emotionally focused therapy, feminist therapy, systemic therapy, family systems therapy, and animal assisted therapy.
Selena’s focus for treatment includes, but is not limited to, anxiety, relational and attachment challenges, gender/sexual/LGBTQ+ issues, trauma and PTSD, emotional disturbances, depression, mood disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., ASD, ADHD), family conflicts, women’s issues, and multicultural/systemic challenges.
